After hitting an air pocket, Emirates flight 530 from Dubai to Kochi/Cochin loses altitude from 20,000 feet to 5,000 feet over the Arabian Sea before the pilot regains control. Some 23 passengers & crew suffering minor injuries. The plane landed at Kochi under full emergency conditions. |

Emirates increases its flight frequency from 3 to 5 weekly flights from Dubai to Cochin. Under the new schedule, Emirates will fly non-stop between Dubai and Cochin on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. "In the four months since its inception, Emirates has received an excellent response. This has led us to an increase in flights to Kerala. We will continue to develop our India network to support customer demand and provide our passengers with the services they require. We would like to thank the Kerala State Government and Indian Civil Aviation Authorities for their cooperation in enabling Emirates to increase services to five times a week, between Dubai and Cochin. " said Emirates’ General Manager for India & Nepal, Nabil Sultan. |
