Transavia airlines is to launch Dubai flights as from 11 October, complementing the airlines parent carrier, KLM, the low-cost carrier announced. It will operate two flights using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Analysts speculated that the move was sparked by KLM to pressure the giant, Emirates, also operating on the route. |

Emirates commences daily non-stop passenger flights form Dubai to Amsterdam, operated with 777-300ER and 777-200LR aircraft (thus becoming the only airline to offer first class services on the Dubai-Amsterdam flight route). This is Emirates' 23rd route into Europe. "We are extremely pleased to announce a new service into Europe at this time and I'm sure it's a development that will be welcomed with open arms in The Netherlands. Amsterdam is already an important offline market for Emirates and we know there is significant passenger traffic heading from Amsterdam to Dubai and onto Africa, the Indian Sub-continent, Asia and the Far East. This is also a major freight hub and one of the world's renowned flower centres. Emirates has served The Netherlands as a freighter destination for fifteen years and currently offers six 747-400 freighter flights a week between Dubai and Amsterdam. The daily passenger flight will allow us to bolster our cargo offering by making use of the belly hold capacity." said the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum. Emirates flight EK145 leaves Dubai daily at 0825am and arrive at Amsterdam Schipol at 1330pm. EK 146 leaves Amsterdam at 1530pm and arrives in Dubai (DXB) at at 2359pm. |
